Vittoria Terreno: the perfect cyclocross tyres

“We crisscrossed creek beds, climbing steep inclines up one side, then right back down them and into a turn. The Terreno Dry tires hooked up amazingly well, grabbing the ground quickly and controllably …” – Benedict (Bike Rumur tester).

Cyclocross and Gravel combine the worlds of road and off-road, and it is sometimes referred to simply as ‘Cross’. Vittoria Cross tires offer you the best of both worlds with its traditional road technology cotton casings and the MTB tread expertise.

Vittoria presented the new range of gravel and cyclocross tyres: the Terreno series.
In order to provide the rider with the best option according to different trail conditions, the Terreno series comes in three versions.

Terreno DRY are specific cyclocross tyres for hard ground. The ‘fish scale’ tread design allows for extremely fast rolling in the central part, yet offering traction when loaded in cornering and braking.

Terreno MIX is the all conditions version, the perfect choice when dealing with diverse types of terrain.

Terreno WET are cyclocross tyres particularly designed for the muddiest conditions. Offer the best grip thanks to the progressive depth tread design that guarantee smooth transitions between cornering lean angles.

Terrenos are available in tubular and tubeless-ready clincher versions. Both versions benefit from the presence of Graphene in the tyre compound. Graphene is a material having exceptional characteristics that make Vittoria products advantageous for many different purposes and uses; it derives from carbon, more precisely from graphite.

Prior to the advanced development of Graphene, there was always the requirement of choosing between optimizing, or aiming at, speed, grip, durability and puncture protection. Effectively, the introduction of Graphene in tires, allows for natural material barriers of rubber to be removed. This means that there is no longer the need for such compromises between speed, grip, durability and puncture resistance.

Within cyclocross tyres, the use of Graphene means grip in wet condition, overall strength and puncture resistance/impact protection. In broad terms, Graphene makes performance compounds weigh less, and take much longer to wear, especially at the knob base. In fact, clear improvement of knob strength (wear & tear/ cracking, reduced functioning) has been observed in Vittoria Terreno products’ test results

The tubular version of the Terreno series owns the highest quality of cotton casing that allows the maximum flexibility and highest durability. Vittoria is the pioneer and the world’s leading manufacturer of tires with cotton casing. The sublime performance of Vittoria tires and tubulars is the product of years of experience, R&D, and advanced production technology. At its heart is our mastery of fine-cotton Corespun production.

In addition to this, Terreno tubulars come with 3C technology. Vittoria applies three different compounds in the same tread. The different properties of each layer improve the performance in different ground conditions.

Terreno DRY, MIX and WET tubeless-ready versions use Vittoria TNT casing technology. TNT (short for Tube/No-Tube) can be used with or without an inner tube. What originated as our tubeless-ready casing has evolved into the obvious choice for racers who demand race day dependability.

Vittoria Terreno participates in worldwide cyclocross competitions with: BMC Cyclocross Team, GS Carabinieri Olympia-Vittoria team, Guerciotti-Selle Italia team.

In Januray 2018, the Vittoria Terreno range took its first national titles:

  • Elisabeth Brandau, German Cyclocross National Championship
  • Braidot Luca, Italian Cyclocross National Championship
